Press Release
September 19 2000: Sounds Logical at AES and IMX 2000
Sounds
Logical will showcase WaveWarp 2.0 at the upcoming 109th
AES Convention in Los Angeles on 22-25 September 2000, and
at the 2nd Interactive Music
Expo (IMX) in Los Angeles on 3-4 October 2000.
On display will be WaveWarp 2.0 plus the forthcoming extensions,
namely the WaveWarp Audio Toolbox for MATLAB, and the WaveWarp
plugin for Winamp. The WaveWarp Audio Toolbox for MATLAB provides
seamless communication between WaveWarp and MATLAB (from The Mathworks,
Inc), allowing MATLAB to function as an audio source, sink, or
in-the-loop processor of audio streams managed by WaveWarp. Also,
the new WaveWarp digital filtering component allows filter designs
from MATLAB to be seamlessly integrated into WaveWarp's real-time
processing engine. Moreover, the WaveWarp Audio Toolbox for MATLAB
is built around a suite of MATLAB m-files (plus API engine calls)
enabling the user to re-configure, adapt, or extend the functionality
as desired. For example, the user can create totally customised
MATLAB functions (and GUI's) for processing the WaveWarp audio
stream on- or off-line.
The
WaveWarp Winamp plugin enables WaveWarp to function as a plugin
to the popular Winamp media player (from Nullsoft), much in the
same way as WaveWarp 2.0 functions as a DirectX plugin to a wide
range of audio editors and sequencers. The Winamp plugin functionality
enhances the versatility of WaveWarp by encompassing a broader
range of PC-audio users than DirectX alone.
