1.1-- Key features

Welcome to ReSample from Sounds Logical. In a nutshell, ReSample is a batch WAV file sample-rate and bit-depth converter. The key features of ReSample include:

    ReSample key features

Pro-audio conversion between the following sample-rates commonly employed in digital audio: 8000, 11025, 16000, 22050, 32000, 44100, 48000, 96000, 192000 Hz. Each converter employs low-noise (>120 dB stopband attenuation) high-order FIR anti-aliasing/anti-imaging filters implemented in efficient multi-stage polyphase form (see appendix 5.4 for details).

    Supports bit-depth re-quantization from 2 to 32-bits, inclusive.

Supports the most widely-used PCM WAV formats: Microsoft WAV_FORMAT_PCM, and WAV_FORMAT_EXTENSIBLE.

Full support for multichannel WAV files including the ability to (re)-set the "ChannelMask" speaker layout mapping (for WAV_FORMAT_EXTENSIBLE ).

Allows for the distinction between Valid Bits (i.e. the actual quantization bit-depth of the audio data) and Container Bits (i.e. the "size" of the "container" used to store each quantized sample).

Provides a full range of dithering options when re-quantizing (including simple additive "rectangular" and "triangular" dither, plus first-order and arbitrary user-defined FIR noise-shaping dither).

Provides the option to apply arbitrary gains or amplitude normalization on an "across-channel" or a "channel-by-channel" basis.

32-bit floating-point precision used in all internal computations.

A straightforward GUI enabling convenient configuring and management of large batch jobs with many files. Includes a "default new task settings" feature which enables the settings for all files added to the project to be automatically configured in a common way (e.g. all input files, regardless of bit-depth or sample rate, can be set to have a common output format of, say, 16-bits, 44.1 kHz in preparation for, say, an audio CD). For complete flexibility, the settings for each file (or a group of files) can be individually adjusted if required.

A "smart" Project Manager which keeps track of all the settings for every file in the project. If the processing is stopped before completion, then re-started at a later point in time, the Project Manager "remembers" the state of progress. By default (can be overridden) only those tasks which had not been previously completed, or whose settings have been since changed by the user, will be processed on the re-start. Includes a "Save" and "Load" feature for saving the settings of a partially-processed project.

A previewer for "auditioning" the conversion over a user-defined initial sequence of a given file, before committing to the conversion of the entire file (or batch of files).
