ADSR Speed Playback Panner
This illustrates the use of the ADSR Envelope generator for simultaneously controlling the speed and stereo panning of an audio
file. The ADSR Envelope gives out a signal between 0 and 1 which is used to directly modulate the panning (via the Multiply
Audio by Control components plus the One minus Control component to separate the left and right channels). The same ADSR
Envelop signal is passed through the Large Control Gain component which is set to a value of 2 such that the signal coming
out is between 1 and 2. This is in turn sent into the Controllable Playback Speed Controller which controls the playback speed
of the WAV file. When the control signal is equal to 1, the playback is normal; when it is 2, the playback is double speed. The
ADSR Envelope is configured such that the file plays at the normal speed most of the time, and suddenly speeds up for short
impulsive durations during which the panning is set to the extreme right of center. This combination of the synchronised speed-up
and panning is a nice example of the versatility of the ADSR Envelope component. Try experimenting with all settings to
appreciate the power of this combination.
