AutoSynth Built From Threshold
Illustrates how the Audio Threshold component can be used to build a simple -- yet effective --auto-synthesiser. The Audio
Threshold gives out a control signal with value 0 when the input audio signal is below the amplitude determined by the slider, and
value 1 when above. By using a smoothed version of the threshold control signal to modulate the frequency of the
controllable oscillator, the "auto-synth" effect is achieved. In this example, the oscillator "speaks" in sync with the
underlying drum track. The original drum track is mixed in with the synth to emphasise the fact that the synth is in sync with
the drums.
Experiment with all settings to appreciate the versatility of this simple combination.
