Description
Stereo Pre-built DirectX Example: Extreme Variable Delay
HINT: YOU CAN CHOOSE ANY WAVEWARP DRAWINGBOARD AS A DIRECTX STEREO PLUGIN -- NOT JUST THE
ONES CONTAINED IN THIS "DirectX/Stereo" CATEGORY. WAVEWARP WILL AUTOMATICALLY CONVERT ANY
DRAWINGBOARD INTO THE REQUIRED FORMAT. THE PRE-CONVERTED EXAMPLES IN THIS DIRECTORY
ARE SIMPLY TO DEMONSTRATE THE EXPLICIT FORMAT OF STEREO DIRECTX DRAWINGBOARDS. SO, AFTER
YOU'VE TRIED THESE, JUST BROWSE TO ANY OTHER EXAMPLE DRAWINGBOARD IN THE ENTIRE DISTRIBUTION --
OR BETTER STILL, GO INTO WAVEWARP AND BUILD YOUR OWN!
Illustrates the bizarre effects achievable using a variable delay . The core of the effect is the Controllable Variable Delay block
which implements the time-varying delay. This block has, in addition to the audio input, two control inputs (red), one for each
stereo channel, which are driven by a modulating control oscillator (the Combo Control Generator block). In this example, the
Combo Control Generator block reads an envelope from an external text file ("twotone.txt") which modulates the delay length.
In this way, you may specify any arbitrary desired envelope by creating a simple text file (alternatively, you may use the built-in
envelopes !).
Experiment with all the settings to explore the behaviour.
