Multichannel panner built from scratch
NOTE: THIS DRAWINGBOARD REQUIRES TWO SOUNDCARDS!
Illustrates how to build a multichannel panner using multiple soundcards. In this examples, two stereo soundcards are used
to create a four-channel panning effect. The Up-Down Ramp Control Generators are used to generate ramp signals for
modulating the output amplitudes of each channel. The relative phases of the ramp signals are adjusted such that the
output signal appears to "travel around" the four speakers, one after the other. This is just one example of a panning
profile.
The structure can easily be extended to generate more outputs (i.e. for more than two soundcards), and any arbitrary
panning profile may be applied (constructed from a combination of basic building blocks).
