Spectrum Analyser
Illustrates the use of the Spectrum Analyser block for computing the spectrum of an audio signal in real-time. In this
example, the spectrum of a signal (the upper Spectrum Analyser) is compared with the spectrum of the signal after
passing through a notch filter. When comparing the spectra, the notch clearly shows up (at approx 2500 Hz as set in the
Parameter Window of the IIR 2-pole notch). The "Averaging" has been set to maximum in these examples to demonstrate
how effectively the averaged spectrum picks up steady-state (non-time-varying) phenomena such as the notch filter.
Try experimenting with all settings (e.g. different "Averaging" values) of the Spectrum Analyser to explore its behaviour.
Likewise, try using different input signals and different filters. Also note that you can save the measured spectrum to a file
using the "Save average spectrum to file" dialog box. This is a useful feature if you wish to perform off-line post-processing
of the measured spectra. (See "wwxmpl11.m" in the wwmatlab directory for an example of how to read a spectrum
generated by WaveWarp into MATLAB for post-processing).
