Welcome to the WaveWarp Audio Toolbox for MATLAB®. This product consists of the full WaveWarp application plus a set of extensions enabling seamless communication between WaveWarp and MATLAB, thereby allowing MATLAB to function as an audio source, sink, or in-the-loop processor of audio streams managed by WaveWarp.
MATLAB, available separately from The MathWorks (
www.mathworks.com), is a technical computing environment for high-performance numeric computation and visualization. MATLAB integrates numerical analysis, matrix computation, signal processing, and graphics in an easy-to-use environment. MATLAB is widely used in all branches of applied mathematics, science, and engineering. It is ideally suited to the design of signal processing algorithms and audio effects. For example, the MATLAB Signal Processing Toolbox (available separately from The MathWorks) incorporates a full suite of digital filter design tools.
The combination of WaveWarp and MATLAB leverages significantly off the strength of each product: namely the real-time audio processing capabilities of WaveWarp, with the powerful computation, analysis, visualization, and design capabilities of MATLAB.
Specifically, the WaveWarp Audio Toolbox for MATLAB provides the following features in addition to the standard WaveWarp functionality:
1. Suite of MATLAB-enabled WaveWarp components which are seamlessly integrated with the MATLAB computational engine. See section 2.2-- for a detailed description.
2. Suite of MATLAB m-files for off-line use either in combination with WaveWarp or in standalone audio-specific MATLAB-based computations. See section 2.3-- for a detailed description.
