2.22-- A complete example |

|
As an example in modifying a DrawingBoard to create a new effect, create a DrawingBoard called "MyFirst.dwb" by copying from "Welcome.dwb", as described in section 2.12--. Delete the "Simple delay" icon as described in section 2.19-- (note that the cables are automatically deleted with the component). Now select a "Flipper" component with a "single input single output stereo-stereo" implementation from the "Delays" category in the Component Library and place it on the DrawingBoard, as described in section 2.15--. Move it to roughly the same position as occupied by the deleted component, as described in section 2.16--. Finally, connect the new component to its neighbors, as described in section 2.20--. The resulting DrawingBoard is shown in Figure 16.

Figure 16 Screenshot of "MyFirst.dwb", a modified version of "Welcome.dwb" where the "Simple delay" has been replaced by a "Flipper". This illustrates how easy it is to create/modify effect algorithms.
Now click "Play" in the Transport Window. You should hear the results of your modifications. (Recall: you can compare with the original by making "Welcome.dwb" active and clicking "Play".)
Congratulations. You have just built your first DrawingBoard!
Hint: you can try using a different input audio file by dragging it on from the "Input Audio Files" category of the Component Library. Alternatively, you can double-click on the name below the icon on the existing audio file. This will open a dialog box with which you can navigate and select a replacement file.
